Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy, a new standalone box!

With the third box of Tag Team having just been teased, the Quebec-based publisher Scorpion Masqué (Dead Cells: The Rogue-Lite Board Game, Sky Team, Turing Machine…) has officially announced the release of Tag Team: Arthur’s Legacy.

6 New Fighters from Arthurian Legends 
This new set introduces 6 brand-new Fighters, directly inspired by Arthurian legend: Morgan, Merlin, The Dragon, Perceval, The Green Knight… and even Excalibur. Each hero brings their own style and mechanics, adding variety to duels and expanding the range of possible combinations.

Manuel Sanchez, Head of the Scorpion Masqué studio, confides: “The original Tag Team box strongly suggested that the mechanisms invented by Gricha and Corentin had almost infinite potential for game effects and asymmetric gameplay—and Arthur’s Legacy confirms this! Benoit and Florian joined the team for this expansion and have brought us six characters with gameplay experiences that are completely different from the original 12! Giving us an object (Excalibur) instead of a character—that was a bold move. Or take Merlin, with his side board for conjuring spells… Each character brings its own set of surprises!”

A Fully Compatible Standalone Game! 
Tag Team: Arthur’s Legacy can be played on its own and is 100% compatible with all existing and future Fighters. Players who own the first game can now put together their ideal duo from the 18 available Fighters to create up to 153 explosive teams and unprecedented synergies.

A New Creative Team for a New Universe
The characters in this box set were designed by Florian Sirieix and Benoit Turpin, based on the original idea of Gricha German and Corentin Lebrat.

Florian Sirieix and Benoit Turpin share: “Working on a sequel to a game created by other designers is a very interesting (and somewhat stressful) experience. You have to both respect the original work and its intent, while also offering something new and personal - all without losing sight of what really excites players. We’re lucky that Tag Team is a streamlined and intuitive game—coming up with new combos was a real treat. Thank you, Corentin and Gricha, for this opportunity!” 

On the illustration front, Naïade is joined by Robin Lagofun, who shares: “I loved joining the Tag Team project for this new box. Naïade once again did a fantastic job designing the characters, and I had a blast redrawing them from every angle to illustrate the different cards, all while trying to stay true to the spirit of the first box!”

Tag Team: Arthur’s Legacy is a game by Florian Sirieix, Benoit Turpin, Gricha German, and Corentin Lebrat, published by Scorpion Masqué. It is illustrated by Naïade and Robin Lagofun. It will be available in September 2026 for $20 USD and is designed exclusively for 2 players, ages 10 and up. Tag Team takes 15 minutes to play and offers tremendous replay value. ROUND 2… FIGHT
